Food for Thought

Hot issues today for people of all ages is colon related problems due to intake of genetically modified foods and additives that result in serious  diseases such as Crohn’s Disease, Celiac Disease, Leaky Gut Syndrome, Barrett’s Disease and colon cancer. There is so much that’s being sold in restaurants and at stores that is quick, easy and/or tasty that is damaging to our bodies. It is very important that we all must learn everything about what we put into our mouths. Ask yourself questions like: “What is really in this food/drink?” and “Will this food or drink damage me in anyway?” Just because it my taste and look good doesn’t mean that it’s good for us. If you get symptoms like heart burn, bellyaches, nausea, diarrhea, headaches, weakness, fatigue, bloating or a feeling of puffiness then learn about the above named topics and more. Get informed, Google, read and be tested. Stay healthy my friend!

High Blood Pressure: Does sugar or salt contribute to high blood pressure? For many years most people have believed that salt not sugar was the culprit. Salt is a necessary food. Without it we would quickly slow down and die. Celtic Sea Salt is much better than common table salt (sodium chloride). Sugar (like high  fructose corn syrup on the other hand) on the other hand is in processed and fast foods and is now accepted as the major link to cardiovascular disease, liver disease and diabetes. Processed sugar has a chemical structure that is highly addictive. When eaten it goes quickly into the blood stream, causes dopamine to be released and the associated “feel good” from it. Blood pressure skyrockets and over time our bodies pay the price. Stick with natural sugars from fruits that have a different chemical structure and are slowly released into the blood stream. Stay away from fast and processed foods. They may be cheap and easy but the results aren’t.
